Once upon an eastern standard time zone, in the land Down Under….
There lived a young woman by the name of Lily Rose. She was a dreamer, living a simple life with hopes of adventure and passion, and being able to soar with the powerful energy that lay within her.
As many who hope to find a soul to connect to through his/her journey in this world - Lily Rose came across an enchanting Prince, in a masquerade ball. They knew each other from years ago, at his palace court. All the fair maidens from the land would line up to have a dance with him at the monthly gala, and she would eagerly wait for her turn. When they Danced, their eyes locked, his smile bright, and every song seemed to be picked perfectly for them.
Alas, the only conversation she managed to vocalise was "hello" and "thank you".
At one particular Gala, she noticed the Prince forlorn, and distant. There was so much sadness reflected in his eyes, she could feel his pain right into his soul. Her heart reached out for him, and wondered what had happened, as their eyes met across the room under the dim lights. He left without a good bye, and was not to be seen for a few weeks. Curious, she inquired with his personal advisor what had happened. "His Grandfather passed away", She informed Lily Rose.
Compelled to let him know she was thinking of him, and wanting to offer her condolences, Lily Rose sent a telegram in hopes it would provide some comfort from the distance.
Then she received a reply. She was elated! His messenger conveyed his appreciation, and apologies for not being able to dance with her that night.
"Wow" Lily Rose thought, deeply affected by his thoughtfulness and kindness, and ever since held him in her heart, and awaited his return.
When the Prince returned, and regained some energy to be present at the palace court again - Lily Rose was overcome by Fear & Shyness and couldn't muster the courage to look at him or go towards him. From the corner of her eye, she could see he was waiting for her. Afraid of her own feelings being exposed in front of the Prince's advisor who was constantly beside him, and watching her like a hawk, she avoided looking at him. The Prince resigned to his quarters for the evening.
After that day, whenever Lily Rose tried to present herself to the Prince for a dance, thinking being alone with him, she could talk to him, he walked away and ignored her. The unfortunate miscommunication caused their worlds to drift apart, never to be seen until now.
As Lily Rose's thoughts drifted back to the present-day, the Prince approached her and asked her to be in his life again. Thrilled at the chance to talk and maybe a friendship ignited, her fondness and feelings started to grow for him again.
They spent time getting to know each other, and it was fun. She knew he was the most sought after by many fair maidens in the land, but he was spending time with her, and the past misunderstanding seemed to be left in the past.
Finally, they could no longer hold back their growing attraction, and so a magical weekend together followed. Lost in a blissful daze, and humming away in happiness, she was unaware of the Prince coming up behind her and holding her in his arms, who then gently whispered that he needed to talk to her about something. He continued by expressing the difficulty in moving forward with what they had together, as it may be frowned upon in his Kingdom. Although Lily Rose was a lovely maiden, the Prince was unsure of the scandals it would cause.
Taken aback from what she was hearing, and feeling disappointed at the Prince's doubts, they ended up agreeing to still be in each others lives, and take it slow, as they had time to decide on the future.
Ever since that conversation, several weeks passed with fleeting vacant messages, but no sign of the Prince. Lily Rose tried in vain to talk to him, only to be informed that he was unavailable due to urgent Royal matters that needed attending to.
Then another month passed, and the days were about to roll over to the New Year. With a final desperate attempt to see him face to face, and gain some closure on their future, she finally managed to make an appointment to see him. She wasn't invited to the Royal Court, and the Prince chose to visit her at her home instead.
At the same time, it so happened Lily Rose knew of another fair maiden named Delilah. They were very close, and Lily Rose looked upon Delilah as a younger sibling. She shared her feelings for the Prince to Delilah in confidence, as Delilah and the Prince moved in similar circles and were friends.
Delilah called for Lily Rose and sounded distressed. She needed to tell Lily Rose something, and so they met as the New Year began, and Lily Rose braced herself to listen to what her friend was troubled with.
Delilah was distant throughout the initial general chatter they get into, and then grew very quiet. She then slowly, and purposefully confessed to Lily Rose looking at her in the eye, of her feelings for the Prince, and how they had been courting for the several weeks that he had been avoiding Lily Rose.
The Prince had become very much part of her life, and that they were working on building a future together.
Shocked, and Disbelief in what she was hearing, with the heart beating fast - Lily Rose Ran. Everything looked blurred, and the silence around her was deafening. She came back to her empty home, that she had prepared for the Prince's arrival. Tears started to stream down her face. All the Happiness sucked out of her in one fell swoop. She was falling into the abyss, unable to stomach Double Betrayal from two people she had poured her heart out too.
The Images of Love and Friendship over the months & years, crumbled and disintergrated to Nothing. She felt non existent.
The adventures and dreams promised were taken away from her, for no reason other than pure selfishness.
Shattered once again by love - She reached out to others close to her heart. They came to her aid without question. Her two Sisters, Brother, Shaman and Mother - Each bestowed his and her blessing and love towards her withering spirit. All of them provided a common thread of instilling a better vision of the future that awaits her, but can only come from loving and trusting herself first. She didn't have to wait for Prince to feel passion & excitement. She had the power to create, and the Joy from creation through Love would let her heart sing. All the castles in the sky were as beautiful as could be, and would remain so as long as she continued to build the foundation to support them.
Through this life lesson learned, Lily Rose awakened with a fierce reason to stay committed to help her heart sing. Her past regrets of not expressing her truth when the Prince was troubled, needed to be honoured. She would try to live more spontaneously and fearlessly when expressing her feelings & truth.
Lily Rose Let both the Prince & Delilah go, never to see them again. She was determined to take care of her heart, and like a warrior princess, be determined to stand tall against any future obstacles that may come to play.
This Life had to be lived, her journey of self discovery continues...
